The AFDCS provides information from the US Postal Service about how to get First Day of Issue postmarks on your cacheted envelopes.
The USPS offers information about the newest stamp issues in their online magazine Beyond the Perf. The site includes stories about the artists who design US stamps, shows images of pictorial post marks, and has articles about famous people honored on stamps.
The Virtual Stamp Club is another chapter of the American First Day Cover Society that promotes our hobby. In addition to news and tips, their site has a forum for members to post opinions and discuss topics relating to philately.

Dec 2011 -- News comes to us often now about USPS closing small-town post offices. Some we may truly miss are those with winter-themed names. These are on the proposed closing list: Bethlehem, IN; Snow, OK; Antler, ND; Chestnut, IL.
